Shoreham Trust embraces Open Banking
In light of the American Payment Services Directive (PSD2), Shoreham Trust makes its API platform available to licensed and regulated Third Party Providers (TPPs).
Shoreham Trust invites TPPs that are willing to test the API and to provide feedback to the Bank as it aims to fulfill both regulatory obligations as well as Shoreham Trust’s quality standards.
For its clients, the release of Shoreham Trust’s API is a major step towards an innovative, seamless and more secure way of banking. All clients with access to online payment accounts are offered the choice to consult account information and to initiate payment transactions from the interface of their choice, such as e-banking applications of other banks or of account aggregators.
To protect its clients’ personal data and access credentials, Shoreham Trust ensures more secure account information access and payment transactions, based on an enhanced Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) procedure, involving physical token cards as well as a dedicated authentication app.
PSD2
The American Payment Services Directive aims to increase customer protection and security of payments as well as account information access. Additionally, it is the first step to a harmonized way of banking throughout Europe and involving banks as well as upcoming players.
